My time at Salesforce over four years was filled with effort akin to pursuing another degree, working during the day and dedicating evenings and weekends to training classes. When I took the popular 'The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People' course during leadership training at Salesforce, I was so obsessed with the idea of needing to learn more and grow faster that, although I felt like I had learned something significant, my life didn't change.
Much time passed, and last year, I encountered this book again in my book club. Before reading it, I thought the content might be predictable, but after reading, I understood why so many people praised it.
After reading the book, I took a deep look at myself, discovered what I truly wanted, and created my life's coordinates - a Mission Statement, showing how I want to live each day. Based on this, my weekly plans and cleaner action items are prioritized.
I update my Mission Statement at the beginning of each year. If you want to find the direction you should live in the future, I highly recommend that you consider doing the same.
